FUNDING CRISIS STIFLES PROGRESS OF YOUNG ORGANISATIONS
South Africa has celebrated over a decade and a half of liberation. It is evident the South African government is committed to economic freedom and has invested heavily in its people. South Africa plays a key economic and political role in Africa. Joblessness, HIV/AIDS, crime, and corruption jeopardize and drain public support for South Africa’s hard won democracy. The Restoration of Human Abilities Association, The H.O.P.E. Foundation and many other young organisations have received no support from the Eastern Cape Government in the years they have been serving the local communities in the Eastern Cape. Whether it be established organizations or smaller projects contributing to the wellbeing of the regions communities and complimenting state services, it is imperative that funding is fairly awarded by officials and made available accordingly. AFRICA REACT (UK) are well aware of government overlooking support for many years for such worthy causes, and understands that a concerted effort is to be made on an international scale in order to support and nurture the two projects and the unfortunate ‘fledgling projects’, where services have been invaluable and vital in the Province of the Eastern Cape. Winston Churchill once said : ‘Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen’ We need to hear what our communities are telling us. AFRICA REACT UK are listening……
